How well would non-armor clothing work?

Seriously, how come the only clothing options are armor? If I just want to hang around a town for a while and chat with my friends/trade off my swag, why would I still wear my heaviest armor? Make it a craftable item, and have several different styles for each class, and some that are common to all. That way, if I take my armor off, I still have the option of not going bare-chested/pantless/shoeless in the shiverpeaks.

I think it would be cool to stroll through Drok's wearing a nice outfit. I'm not saying my solid-silver armor isn't nice, I'm just saying some non-combat oriented options would be cool.

It's only effects would be cosmetic, so gameplay wouldn't be affected all that much, and most of the clothes could be skinned off of existing bots/npcs (I love the parkas that the ascalon refugees in the northern shiverpeaks wear). IT probably wouldn't take up that much system space, either. Only problem would be storage, as each piece of clothing would take up a seperate inventory slot.
